I have now watched all four films I own by Wes Anderson :

• The Darjeeling Limited
• Rushmore
• The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
• The Royal Tenenbaums

If I watch Bottle Rocket and Fantastic Mr. Fox I will have seen all films he’s ever directed. With the films I have watched so far, it is clear that there are many similarities between them all including the actors used, some stylistic features, the type of music and the theme of family. Despite all these things there are to potentially write about, I am not sure that there are many external sources on Wes Anderson and his directing and films. Because of this I’m going to also watch some films by David Lynch, who I already know has much more information including books and short filmson him, so I can then make a decision on who to finally concentrate on. So in the next week I plan to watch :

• Inland Empire
• The Elephant Man
• Mulholland Drive
• Blue Velvet

My initial choice of director was Stanley Kubrick. So far, I’ve watched the following;

> Lolita

> 2001: A Space Odyssey

> A Clockwork Orange

> The Shining

> Eyes Wide Shut

However, still in the process of choosing a final director because I wrote some of my previous coursework on A Clockwork Orange. Currently in the middle of watching the David Lynch and Wes Anderson collections to get a feel of a few different directors. After watching all of the films, I’ll choose one to go into much more depth. While watching films by all three directors though, I plan to read up more about all of them.
